UCU Equality research conference 2024 - submitted papers

Introduction

UCU equality research conference 2024

Nothing Without Us – Pride, Diversity, Respect and Liberation

A conference for academics, researchers and activists conducting research on equality with a focus related to topics of national and international areas of self-determination / social model; solidarity / allyship; power dynamics including negative outworking e.g. discrimination / marginalisation; and wellbeing / mental health

This second UCU equality research conference is organised following the first UCU equality conference in 2022 and six successful UCU LGBT+ research conferences since 2008. This conference will explore a wider spectrum of subjects, including but not limited to research which examines the impact of equality issues on the black, disabled, LGBT+, migrant and women staff represented in UCU's equality structures.

This 2024 conference seeks to bring together academics, researchers and activists to focus on research and chart a way forward which bridges the gap between academia and activism.
